The Bar
Located on the ground floor of First Court C, the college bar serves a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, alongside a range of snacks. During the day, the bar transforms into the college cafe, serving a range of cakes, teas and coffees.
THE JCR ROOM
A great place to veg out in front of the TV! The JCR (the undergraduate common room) has sofas, a Sky box with Sky Sports subscription, a Wii and a PlayStation. The JCR room is located on the ground floor of First Court A. You will need your University card to enter.
It is possible to book the JCR.
THE GYMS
There are two well-equipped gyms in Magdalene. The first is located a the bottom of Benson C. This gym primarily contains free weights. The other gym (opened in April 2011) is located on the 2nd floor in Cripps Court (at the end of the corridor). This gym primarily contains cardio equipment.
To use either gym you have watch a video and complete a form. Please contact welfare@magd.cam.ac.uk to access these.
SQUASH & FIVES COURTS
There is a squash court hidden away in Mallory Court (keys from the Porters' Lodge) and an Eton Fives court next door. Speak to the porters to book these facilities and try something new...
GAMES ROOM
Head past First Court A and down the corridor to Old Lodge to find the Games Room! Inside, you can play pool or table football. You will need your University card to open the door.
There is also a table tennis table which is stored in the Buckingham Room. To use it, book the Buckingham Room in the normal way through the Conference Office (5 working days in advance), and collect the key from the Porters' Lodge when you come to play.
PUNTING
The JCR maintains a punt which is available to use for free when it is warm. Go to the Porters' Lodge to book the punt and to collect the keys. Cushions and paddles can be found in the wooden lockers underneath Benson O.
MUSIC PRACTICE ROOMS
The College has many spaces available for music practice: the Buckingham Room, Music Practice Room 2 (Old Court 12), the Cripps Court Music Practice Room (with drum-kit) Benson Hall (which houses the new grand piano). Speak to the porters to access these rooms.
